Background:
Born and Raised in the mountain state of Montana, Mathew grew up with an interest in two things; cars and fighting. He began his training at the young age of 16 between shifts working at the local garage. By his senior year in high school he had become the best fighter in his home town and had won the state wrestling title two years in a row. After finishing high school, he made his move to Seattle in order to make his way into the UFC. Bryan found himself with the opportunity of a lifetime. He had a special fight setup by Dana White. The winner of the match would get the opportunity to fight in the UFC. Both fighters had undefeated amateur careers with the majority of their wins coming from way of knockout. On paper the fight looked like it would be close and decided by decision, However, Bryan had others plans. Both fighters came out swinging, but Bryan got the best of his opponent winning the fight in the first round by way of Knockout.
